World Number 1 tennis player, Iga Swiatek, has equalled the long-standing record of Martina Hingis following her victory in the second round of the Wimbledon.

The Polish won her second round game against Dutch’s, Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in the second round of Wimbledon on Thursday, June 30th, 2022. Swiatek became the first female in 25 years to win 37 consecutive games.
Swiatek needed over two hours before she could get past 30-year-old Pattinama to book her spot unto the third round at the Wimbledon for the second straight season.
She won six consecutive titles in (Doha, Indian Wells, and Miami) on the grass while winning( Stuttgart, Rome, and Roland Garros )on clay and including two wins for Team Poland at the Billie Jean King Cup.
