The Men’s 100 meters Heat was headlined by the disqualification of Nigeria’s medal hopeful, Divine Oduduru, who got disqualified from the race for reportedly having a false start on the 31st of July 2021.
There was a bit of controversy at the stadium as British Reece Prescod was not suspended for the same offense he committed some seconds earlier.
The Nigerian currently holds a personal best time of 9.86 seconds for 100 meters and 19.73 seconds for 200 meters.
Meanwhile, there was good news for team Nigeria in other heats as Enoch Adegoke became the 11th Nigerian in history to go under 10 seconds in 100 meters race, running a personal best of 9.98 seconds winning his heat.

Usheoritse Itsekiri also qualified for the semifinals finishing in the third position with a time of 10.15 seconds, Jimmy Vicaut finished second while British Ronnie Baker won the Heat in 10.03 seconds.
