The manager of Barcelona Football Club, Xavi Hernandez, has been denied a visa into the United States of America ahead of this club’s pre-season game.

The Spaniard who travelled with the rest of the team to the airport in Spain last week. The reason given to Xavi was because of his prior visits to Iran and considering the relationship between the United States and Iran, he will not be able to meet his team.
Xavi has been in Iran thrice in the last five years, due to his former association with Qatari club Al Sadd as both a player and coach. He was requested to submit other documents as proof to justify his reasons for travelling to the Middle East country.
This decision means Xavi’s brother, Oscar Hernandez will take charge of the club’s game against Inter Miami on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022. The officials of Barcelona will hope he gets to be around before Barcelona play Real Madrid in Las Vegas four days later.
