Genoa Football Club have terminated the contract of Andriy Shevchenko in less than two months after he was appointed.

The announcement of the sack was confirmed on Genoa’s official website on Saturday, January 15th, 2022. According to reports from the statement, the club thank the former Swedish International and its members of staff for the work they put into the club for the past few months.
The Serie A club have failed to impress under Shevchenko hence the reason for his sack. Genoa has won just one game, lost seven and drawn three in the last eleven matches.
The club have confirmed that Mr. Abdoulay Konko will take charge of the club’s technical leadership of the first team and will be assisted by Roberto Murgita.
