Manchester City’s defender, Benjamin Mendy, has been charged with a seventh count of rape by the Chester Crown court.

The 27-year-old defender was earlier charged with a number of rape offenses. According to reports from Sky Sports on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, he was charged with the additional rape offence last week, which was subject to reporting restrictions by the court.
Mendy is now accused of eight offences against five different women which also includes seven counts of rape which relate to four different women. The French player has been in Police custody since August 26th, 2021. He will also be appearing with co-defendant Louis Saha, who is also accused of sexual offenses against young women.
Manchester City had since the incident suspended Mendy from the club until the case has been settled.
