Chelsea Football Club have reportedly opened talks of a contract extension with one his first-choice goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.

The Senegalese joined the London club from Ligue 1 side, Rennes during the summer transfer window of 2020. According to reports from the Daily Mail, Mendy is one of the players that will get his contract reviewed by the new Todd Boehly-led board.
Mendy was signed as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga but has broken into the first team of the Blues following his fantastic form since he joined the Stamford Bridge club. He was also instrumental in helping Chelsea win the UEFA Champions League at the expense of Manchester City in the final, keeping nine clean sheets in the competition.
Mendy was voted the goalkeeper of the year 2021 by both UEFA and FIFA. The achievement of the goalkeeper is a key reason why the Blues are looking to renew his contract with the club.
