Medvedev won the game in style by beating Tsitsipas 7-6(5), 4-6,6-4,6-1 to see up a date with Rafael Nadal. This is the fourth time that Medvedev will qualify to the final of a grand slam.
The Russian will be looking to win a successive grand slam title after winning his first at the US Open in September 2021. He will also want to surpass his feat at last year’s Australian Open where he lost the final to Novak Djokovic.
The game between both players will be mouth-watering as both men will be playing for more than the grand slam. A win for Nadal will take him to 21 slam titles ahead of Roger Federer and Djokovic while a win for Medvedev will take him to World Number 1 when the ATP rankings are released on Monday, January 31st, 2022.
