World Number 5, male tennis player, Rafael Nadal has booked his spot in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

The Spaniard wasted no time as he got past Adrian Mannarino in straight sets 7-6(14), 6-2,6-2, as he continues his quest to win his 21st grand slam title. In other men’s results Denis Shapovalov stunned Alexander Zverev in straight sets 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-3, to reach the quarter-final of the competition. He faces Nadal in the next round.
35-year-old, Gael Monfils is also through to the last eight by beating Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets 7-5, 7-6(4), 6-3.
In the women’s category, Barbora Krejcikova got past Victoria Azarenka 6-2,6-2 to book her spot in the Round of 8. Azarenka played the game with a neck injury which seem uncomfortable for her throughout the match.
Jessica Pulega also got her quarter-final ticket for the second consecutive year as she beat Maria Sakkari 7-6(0), 6-3. Meanwhile, Madison Keys reached her first grand slam quarter-final since the 2019 French Open by beating Paula Badosa 6-3,6-1.
World Number 1, Ashleigh Barty eases her way past Amanda Anisimova in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. She faces Jessica Pegula in the quarter-finals.
