Seventh seed, Iga Swiatek got herself a spot in the semi-final of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Swiatek was up against one of the dark horses of the competition, Kaia Kanepi who has been responsible for upsets at the competition. The Polish tennis player got past Kanepi after coming back from losing a set to win 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-3. This is Swiatek’s second grand semi-final and her first in the Australian Open.
In the other quarter-final match, America’s Danielle Collins beat Alize Cornet in straight sets 7-5,6-1 to book a date with Swiatek in the semi-finals.
