Former Super Falcons captain, Asisat Oshoala, wrote her name in the history books of the Women’s Spanish Primera Division with the Barcelona female team.

The 27-year-old achieved this feat as she became the first Nigerian to win the Pichichi award, the award is always given to the player with the highest number of goals. She will share the award with Brazilian Geyse Ferreira, who managed 20 goals in 27 appearances for Madrid CFF.
The Nigerian has been in fantastic form since she joined the Spanish club in the past three seasons. She scored 20 goals in the 2019/20 season, and 18 goals in the 2020/22 season
Oshoala joined Barcelona in 2019 from the Women’s team of Arsenal Football Club where she scored just two goals in 13 appearances. Barcelona fans will hope the Nigerian will find her scoring boots when they face Lyon on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 in the UEFA Champions League Women’s final at the Juventus stadium.
