The Confederation of African Football ( CAF ) has announced the new prizes for the winners and participating countries at the African Cup of Nations.

The prize money was announced on Friday, January 7th, 2022 during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the CAF members.
The winner of the competition will get £4.5 million while the runners-up will get £2.64 million. The third-place team will get £2.2 million while any team that gets to the semi final will get £703,361.
Each of the 24 countries are competing in the competition will get at least £534,000.
The committee said in the statement that the decision to increase the prize money is to improve the status of the competition.
