Parker Ighile – Heaven’s Playground (PSA for Newtown, Connecticut from Quincy Jones)

Here is a touching song composed by Parker Ighile for the ‘Connecticut shooting’ victims which he donated for Quincy Jones’ PSA for Newtown, Connecticut.

May God comfort the families of all victims during this holiday season. Let us also remember all the innocent lives lost this year due to violence and unrest around the world  (Nigerians who lost their lives in the bomb blasts caused by Boko Haram, deaths caused by Syrian unrest etc).

Also, read Quincy Jones’ message below and if you find it in your hear to donate to The Sandy Hooks School Support fund, please do so by following the steps in the video below.

Letter from Quincy Jones below:

I am fully aware that there is very little we can do to console the victims of the Newtown tragedy this Christmas, but for those of you, like me, who felt helpless, I wanted to offer this PSA to offer a tangible way to help the victims’ families (the United Way’s fund goes entirely to the victims’ families and services to help the children cope) and we hope this serves as a tributary montage. It is my absolute dream that this can offer just the slightest hint of solace this Christmas as these families bear the unfathomable.

Deepest gratitude to Parker Ighile, who wrote, produced, performed, and donated the song entirely for free — with the simple hope that he could do something for these victims. Further thanks to Getty Images, who donated the photos used and to Cimarron Entertainment/Joe Cipriano for producing and editing the piece ENTIRELY for free — just to help.

My deepest condolences to those who have lost this Christmas and all of my love, Quincy Jones

Some information on the UW Fund:

United Way of Western Connecticut is committed to providing support and resources where and when they become identified and needed. As people from our area and beyond respond to this heartbreaking tragedy, they are turning to United Way looking for ways to help. In response, United Way of Western Connecticut in partnership with Newtown Savings Bank has created the ‘Sandy Hook School Support Fund’ that will be able to provide support services to the families and community that has been affected.

  2. Well done Parker. Good song, good talent. It hurts that you are a Nigerian and you never did something like this to encourage all the families who lost their loved ones to all the crisis here in Nigeria this year. Good Job man and God elevate for this kind gesture to the Connecticut shooting victims!!!

  3. So sad, another soul crushing reminder of how one thoughtless person's actions can destroy so many lives. America is definitely eating its young…RIP the innocent souls and RIP ALUU 4 Chidiaka, Lloyd, Ogonna and Tekena. Now gone to glory but never forgotten. Guess got ur wings now…sad planet 🙁

  4. if he had done smfin like this to encourage nigerians wen he is unknown will u appreciate him?smh naija with deir people dat frustrate real talents,,,,he is doin it 4 people dat appreciate him.and he is making his money.not for that Goddamn country dat even the president didnt give a speech 4 d killing of those four poor bwoys in aluu community….instead he was talkn abt 2013 budget …smhhhhhh.

  5. Hey come on, I don't think that's fair to say. If I remember correctly, his song Beautiful which was put up here received MAD comments from Nigerians hence I think it's unfair to say Nigerians don't appreciate their own. Having said that I think its music, when it comes to you it comes. Nice one Parker! For the records, Nigerians are good at BLOWING their artists up, spreading the word, just like NJO.
