MI's throne is up for grabs. and i dnt mean the best rappers throne but rather the quality/non conforming throne….Its a good album. but i cant stand the beats…dosnt seem like d m.i. from his first 2 compilations…not daring atall. I've hurd this album and personally I don't really like it.. The Represent track is cool but the other songs are a little mediocre.. His first album was definitely better than this. Either way I guess core M.I fans would be happy with this work. Production wise… hmm I can see the fusion his trying to do with African sounds which was a good idea but in the end it didn't really work out.. All the same I wish Him the best

I live in the US and heard of M.I. two summers ago. Honestly, I was a MAJOR M.I. fan. Had a playlist dedicated to him, used him as my twitter background and much more. My friends even knew me by Abaga, and got very fed up with my obsession. Some of them even think I'm going to end up marrying him. He was my favorite artist, even over American artists. It saddens me to say this, but this album is kinda of a disappointment. I hope he drops a much better mixtape to show his capabilities, or I will still be bumping the earlier joints if I'm playing his music at all.

I did not waste my time/money.. The album should be sold for more than what it is right now.. You will not know what I am saying until you cop this album and listen to it without skipping a track..

not a bad album. definitely went further than most with that undoubted Nigerian sound. Liked "Craze" probably because of the social commentary; I think that's where MI truly is in his element. Reminds me of his early stuff before he was even called MI. The stuff about how amazing he is has gotten a bit boring for me, but his delivery is still very confident; very strong. He definitely sounds like he's the boss in Nigerian Rap. Whether that is true or not is up for discussion. Production value in my opinion was low; instrumentation sounds cheap, but perhaps that was what he was going for. I can never tell with MI, so maybe that's the point. But it definitely could have sounded better and after a few songs, all the choruses seem to sound the same. Tuface is definitely a plus on the record; he has that quality that is Nigerian through and through, and Pan African at the same time. Great voice. I thought XO had said and i quote "just confirmed…" a few months ago that he would be featured on the album, or maybe I just missed the track, not sure yet. MI might be worried about all the attention XO is getting these days, but he shouldn't; MI's a performer to the bone and that counts far more than any wordplay you can conjure. The only way is up.

This album is what it is. It is commercial, for main stream Nigeria. personally I hate it. Compared to his illegal music mixtape and Talk About It, I just can't get into it. Having said that, my taste in music varies from the status quo in Lagos, and Nigeria as a whole. One man's meat is another man's poison. I am sure the majority of people in Nigeria will like it. The guy is an intelligent artist. He knows the market and the industry. For that I give him 4 mics. He is making moves to inch closer to D'banj and P-squared. I hope he succeeds. He hopefully has a few mixtape jams that satisfy the other caliber M.I fans.
If you are a rap head just like I am then you should wait to hear illegal music 2, then you can have your guns ready to slang MI, if he doesn't deliver as expected.. I read a number of comments before I listened to the album, and those comments made me somewhat apprehensive. After listening for myself, I must say, this is an incredibly sick album. There's definitely no "sophomore slump" – arguably better than his first. And that's saying A LOT!
There are just too many good tracks on here – my favorites are (in no particular order) Undisputed; Slow Down; Number One; Nobody; Beef; Wild Wild West; Represent; Unstoppable; My Head My Belle. See? That's already 9 songs. Which is extremely rare for ANY album – ANY GENRE! ANYWHERE!!
The only issues I had with the album were some of the skits – and one or 2 "already popular" lines that weren't necessary. But nonetheless, a great album. Solid week+-long non-stop rotation
I'll suggest that other readers should listen for themselves and not be swayed by some negative comments on here. You be the judge for yourself.

M.I Africanized the album..you can't do hip-hop more than the Americans. The best way to win grammy is to be original. M.I did an excellent job on the album even though the beat on sum track were too primary. Nice one.
this is what happens when an album is grossly over hyped.., the album is actually good but it is not what most people expected from him, given the standard of his first album and the mixtape., if it was any other rapper (e.g ruggedman) this album would have been received well by his fans. so we nhav to be honest and say "the album was disappointing"., But i think MI could bounce back if he gets the silly retirement idea out of his head.
