The music that inspired Biger Tinz growing up was a roving ode to the music that germinated from across the breadth of the black diaspora, a mash of righteous rap, furious reggae, and soul fused with more indigenous music styles like Fuji and Apala music. Ota is his latest release featuring Oritse Femi and Tusure off his “Lekki Epe” EP.
Across the six-song project, the singers segue from dancehall-tinged anthems to Fuji-inspired bops that are as inventive as they are refreshing: on “Ota,” he links up with Afropop icon, Oritse Femi, and rising creator, Tusure, to reflect on making it despite adversaries.
