His widely anticipated Super Sun album, is set to be officially released at a launch event on July 24th 2011. The event which will take place at the swanky SS Lounge, Victoria Island promises to be an evening of exciting performances mind blowing acoustic delivery and superb music. Tickets for the event will be available for sale at N5, 000 at selected outlets and event partners.

The 15 track Super Sun album was entirely produced by the enigmatic Cobhams Asuquo, with the exception of the track “I Know” co-produced by phenom, IBK. This album captures the rare and un-distilled essence of Bez. Super Sun was a collaborative labor of love. Seven of the songs were mixed by five-time Grammy nominated mixing engineer, Ryan West. Ryan is best know for chart-busting hip hop and R&B mixes for Rihanna, Eminem, Jay Z, T.I., Usher and many more. Nicolas Mollard, a noted French guitarist and member of Asa’s band, played guitar on the song “Technically”. Joan Ekpai, one of the few female recording and mixing engineers in Nigeria, and Olaitan Dada assisted Cobhams on the other songs. With contributions such as these, it goes without saying that the Super Sun album is a musical tapestry woven with skill, heart, and love.

Only recently, Bez released the remix of Super Sun to positive and rave reviews; arranged by the hugely talented Cobhams Asuquo. The Super Sun remix features appearances by Eva Alordiah, eLDee and “Oleku” prodigy; IcePrince. The upbeat, feel-good groovy track is a glorious mix of rap, alternative soul and masterful acoustic influences for which Bez Idakula is well known. The listener comes away feeling hopeful, re-energized and ready to take on the world!!
A natural performer with a charismatic and playful stage presence, Bez has already opened for international acts like Asa, Angie Stone and Yolanda Brown in a series of high profile shows and events like the Lagos Jazz series, Smooth FM’s ‘Love Music, Love Life’ luxury concert and Sax Appeal 2. He has also performed alongside Africa’s premiere entertainers like Nneka, Tuface, Mike Aremu, South African based Judith Sephuma and M.I. From big band shows with his swinging five-man band, to intimate acoustic showcases led by his masterful guitar playing, Bez is a performer to behold.
