Happy New Year from the Notjustok Team to you and your family. May all that you wish for come to pass in 2015.
2014 has come and gone with several massive songs that rocked our speakers via radio, mobile phones, notjustok.com and other platforms. Several albums were also released, probably more than have been released in the past 2 years which shows that the music industry was even more active in 2014 than it was in the previous year. From all indication, there is no sign of Naija music releases slowing down and we are convinced that 2015 will be a massive year in Nigerian music, both in Africa and outside the continent.
Out of all the massive singles, what were your Top Songs in 2014? Please vote below and vote fast as the poll closes on Tuesday January 7 at 11:59pm Nigerian time. We will announce the TOP 20 songs of 2014 on January 8 2015.
You can select up to 10 songs while voting below. BTW, while you are at it, let’s talk a little politics… who are you voting for in the upcoming Presidential elections; GEJ OR Buhari?

Wizkid everywia….If Only you dont overate wizzy then you will know the dude always deliver, he is more than just a flash on the pan..No be today
Aye by davido is actually the best song this year by a mile.It is evergreen. Dorobucci is nice too but the lyrics is utter rubbish
This one hard sha…… i wish i cud click on more than ten songs… 2014 was HOT , the healthy competition was evident and everyone worked really hard. If your song can top chart for 2weeks straight, then datz Huge coz even the next day,,anoda artist is dropping anoda banger, just couldnt get enuf of it. I hope 2015 will be even better and wnt be surprised if Rihanna wants to feature Seyi shay on her single or Queen Bey looking out for our very own Tiwa savage(yes, its possible, wait for it)…
Im not really impressed with the GEJ administration, one key area he has failed is Security not to mention electricity which he promised to rectify during his campaign. Too many youths are jobless. However, Nigerians are clouded with religious sentiments, We cry against racism but yet we are tribalist to ourselves. Im not endorsing Buhari but i believe there is a better candidate out there can GEJ, he his too cool to be a president, Change is inevitable.. a Buhari/Fashola ticket would have been a HIT but then, what do i know. LET THE BEST MAN WIN
I wish njok would randomise the listing of songs with every page load.
Due to short attention span, the visibility of Dorobucci, and the higher listed songs, is more likely to guarantee it clicks than one of the songs in the lower segment.
As for Buhari vs GEJ..the BEST tool available to predict someones future actions (apart from being psychic ) is by judging someones past actions. In their case, this is easy to do as both have held this position before. Nigerians Please do your research.
So your vote goes to GMB or GEJ?
Fuck Notjustok. U full of fake, U keep hating. Thats why ur fucking web is always closed down for malware issue. U suck.
The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know. If only our northern leaders (Buhari included) worked with GEJ to deal with the insecurity in the north, perhaps nigeria would have seen more development.
On the other hand, the Buhari ticket is only preaching "change" without outlining policies and programs to effect that change therefore it doesn't pass the smell test. It's super difficult trusting nigerian politicians.
I think GEJ should be allowed to complete his second term. Second term presidents usually do much better since it's their legacy at stake with no concern for re-election. I'm hoping he'll have the drive to deal with the criminal elements setting nigeria back.
I support GEJ though I will not be voting. I shall be observing from the land of the free, home of the brave.
I'll b d last person to go wf dis saying of urs
The best song of 2014 was between dorobucci and aye..
As for GEJ v Buhari i'm going to drop the 100% honest opinion.
The two candidates before us have failed Nigerians in one way or the other during their tenure. GMB violated human rights and GEJ hasn't really done much to protect the humans who have the rights (boko haram)
You can hate the two of them as much as you want but both have actually worked for this country… The truth is GEJ is just as good or bad as buhari because everytim i hear stories of bomblasts and boko haram attacks i wonder how our brothers and sisters in the north live.. waking up every morning not so sure if they will make it till night.. lets not forget the chibok girls that have been missing since last year.
Gej on the other hand has been showing desperation and in his attempt to please the public or to meet what he feels the public wants i'm afraid he is going to do more harm than good.
What we need in 2015 is a leader who genuinely has the peoples interest at heart and I do not see that in any of the two candidates.
It's a shame that since the fourth republic GEJ is our ONLY democratic president whom we are sure had no military influence from previous republics, no brother or was not there. GMB and APC are preaching change but are recycling a leader for us.
one f the reasons nigeria is crashing is because of the ruling parties APC and PDP not agreeing on anything and looking for ways to paint the other one bad. The sad thing is most citizens have joined them. We are meant to be one and in order for our beloved country to move ahead we need to bock out these politicians influence and judge on our own individual experiences and conscience in 2015.
Remember you are voting for your own future here. The decision you make in February would affect you for the next four years. Sad thing is no matter the outcome of the lections some people would still want to kill their fellow citizens that are outchea suffering with them. Please my people let us unite and pray to whatever Go you worship. We are one do not let these political parties or politicians or even the media make ou feel otherwise.
AT THE STAGE NIGERIA IS IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE THE NEXT PRESIDENT IS FROM WE NEED A PERFORMER WHO CAN CONTINUE THE GOOD WORKS OF GEJ AND FIX HIS WRONGS AND HAS THE PEOPLES INTEREST AT HEART AND NOT FOR EYE. MY PEOPLE PLEASE BE WISE IN FEBRUARY AND BE SAFE MAY GOD LESS AND GUIDE US.
NA TRUE TALK BRO. ALL ARE BIRDS OF THE SAME FEATHERS. I AM SURPRISED THEY COULDN'T EVEN GIVE SOMEONE LIKE FASHOLA A CHANCE CONSIDERING WHAT HE DID WITH EBOLA AND LAGOS.
Slyde's Banana is conspicuously missing
NJO i jus checked, wats to stop someone from voting more than once i jus tried voting for doro twice and it worked, there should be a way to restrict an ip address from voting more than once!!!
WOW NO BRYMO???? SMH
Calm down. Shey na njo go put money for top 20 artistes account? Wizkid fans they save data for starboymondays, twitter page dey grow, deals yapa, hit songs we dey feel am, shows we dey over turn up,,,rolling stone magazine don confirm am
AS for politics,,,, I do not like d state of the nation so voting for GEJ will be senseless to me especially when I wake up everyday asking for change
. Buhari has a good record(military regime), so he can be tried, tested (in a democratic scene). If he does well thank God. If he messes up we vote him out again.
the power belongs to us the people but we act like we dont know this.
you want change, every action is a risk for good or bad, but be hopeful and give change a chance. Vote for Buhari/Osinbajo. Let us REDEEM THE NORTH AND SAVE NIGERIA for our dynamic youth.
With PDP we have suffered enough, the thing wey dem do us, dem show us pepper oooooo, chai diaris God ooo
1. President Jonathan has shown tremendous UNWILLINGNESS to fight corruption and insecurity even a year to the election.
2. Hitherto he's been thoroughly COMPLACENT having underestimated the frustration even in the South towards his extremely weak administration.
3. I do not see how a man who lacks the will to implement change but chose to politicize everything in his first term will do better in a second term in which he needs no voters.
4. The damage that GEJ and Madam Ngozi have done to our economy alone cannot even be fixed by a new administration in 4 years…Now imagine how much worse things will be if we allow Mr. President another 4 years of HEAVY BORROWING, NON-ACCOUNTABLE SPENDING and economic slavery to IMF and foreign oligarchs.
5. Nigerians MUST USE THEIR BEST WEAPON NOW: and VOTE AGAINST JONATHAN as they MUST against Buhari/Osinbajo in 2019 if they too fail.
DEMOCRACY IS THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE AND CHANGE YOUR CHOICE.
There is no Country and we are heading for elections. O ma se o. Black Man. What a pity.
Until the questions of Nigeria's NATIONHOOD — as spelt out in the Sovereign National Conference- are resolved and implemented, we are going nowhere
Exactly what i thought… Fashola would have been the best candidate everyone knows even Jonathan.. But out of fear or respect they chose Buhari because his party CPC had collaborated with APC and they knew his intentions… Its possible Fashola was not interested also if not i believe he would have ran or atleast gotten vice president slot.. not that empty vessel amaechi that stole from rivers people and became campaign president.
OK voting over time to discuss the politics.
Of course the most natural sentiment in Nigeria today is "voting by affiliation" along ethnic and religious lines. It appears there are ONLY 3 logical reasons why any sane Nigerian would ever consider re-electing GEJ despite the horrible track record of the broken PDP machinery, normalization of corruption and poverty proliferation agenda.
1. "voting by affiliation" along ethnic and religious lines(Tiwa n Tiwa/Ima Mmadu).
2. "voting by affiliation" along financial lines (direct beneficiaries of the GEJ admin's failed infrastructure and policy)
3. Masochists with acute Stockholm Syndrome.
While I do not fully endorse the Buhari ticket and even I wonder why but i'm guessing it's the ethno-religious conflict coming to play in my mind…HOWEVER, as a common Nigerian and progressive individual i have no choice but to lay ETHNIC and RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS aside and Identify the fact that BUHARI's camp represents the lesser evil at this point and is a break from the norm. Given the the current state of play, we LITERALLY have no alternative at this point plus his antecedents are good, he's the OLD SKOOL disciplinarian with sound economic policies NIGERIA desperately needs in this desperate times.
This is my honest opinion as a ONE NIGERIA proponent without ethnic or religious bias but of course alternatively, we can continue playing party politics, zoning and all the other silly side shows while the ship sinks. The ship is fast sinking.
PS: Seccesionists also really need to critically re-assess their stand. Can we really afford to concede the immense potential a functional NIGERIAN state posesses? Are the alternatives truly economically and geopolitically viable?
Hey everybody,
To me I think aye should top the chart ..
And as for GMB and. GEJ..
My fellow Nigerians
Mere looking at nigeria politic
I don't think GMB or GEJ will do Nigeria at large any good .
To my own point of view .
Am not really impressed with GEJ administration because
1. He failed with the country securities ( boko haram ) which am 50% sure was sponsored by one of the opposition parties to tarnish his administration .
2. He failed in enhancing the youth..
We have thousands of graduates in town now with few jobs .
And for GMB..
Even Though I was unable to witness his regime but glad we can read and hear . So we also heard a lot about his regime which is not really fair too..
And come to think of it ..
Where are the leaders of tomorrow ?
I thought we are the leaders of tomorrow..even though I know youth of my age can't be elected as president in Nigeria for now but where are the youth of the 80s and the 90s ? Does that mean none is really interested in bringing changes to Nigeria ? My fellow youth if we don't think twice now next election might be late as Nigeria politics will turn into a family affairs . So if we really need CHANGES then at this point then for me..
I say NO To GMB and GEJ.
We really need change of POWER.
Thanks
Available by Ayo Jay is the best song of 2014 by a mile. Wath! As in…double wath!…Wath wath!
