Here are the Top 10 finalists for the TopTalent Producer Edition. First of all, Trybe Records, NotjustOk and all Judges involved commend all producers who submitted their material for this competition. Most of you did a decent job and made this competition a difficult one for the people who had to pick the Top 10 Finalists. Amazing talent.
If you read the original post where we announced the competition, you will have noticed that the finalists were supposed to be 5 in total and these finalists were meant to be announced yesterday, but instead we ended up announcing the finalists today and choosing 10 finalists. The truth is that many of the songs received were very good and we were not able to cut down the list to only 5 finalists, so an executive decision was made to add the Top 10 songs to the list.

To be honest,all producers did their thing but thing is why take submissions from ppl that we already knw are top talent?I thut dis was meant to be a way of discovering new talents?and trust me,there's dis version I heard can't remember the composer's name but he killed all these peeps as a matter of fact,I had kid konnects' and I even got people to judge n all I've met said he killed kid so coming here to see kid I'm like jesus naija will never change.

I know of someone who made a Better beat than these but did not make the top ten… A lot of these beats are monotonous, and very terrible for a pop song. Eldee, some of these picks should not even make it to a mixtape project!!! I concede. You may be right and the fact that there are 6-8 unknown acts here does something to reduce the bias but I believe the purpose of the competition was visibility, that is of course, unless I read the original post wrongly. I guess it's up to eLDee and the panel of judges to define the boundaries of the word "visibility". In my humble opinion, the acts drawing the venom from spectators are quite visible.

All of these guys gave a good account of themselves but DX Snipe in my view wins because his composition is effortless and polished while others struggled a bit in different areas such as sonics, picking suitable arrangement, sound bed and drum pattern.

How is using another producers drumkit stealing? I'm a producer here in the States & though I don't like drumkits because I prefer high quality sounds, it is a very much practiced ritual for minor producers to use sounds from top producers. Those soundkits are sold online, so it's no "stealing". For example, when lex luger came out with bmf for rick ross, there was a wave of producers trying to make the same kind of trap beat.What did they do? they either bought the official bmf kit, or found a way to get if for free online. Ultimately, no one if you look at it that way, then we are all stealing. Because where did timbaland get his drums? most likely a motif or phantom. Those sounds come stock with those keyboards. The most he could do is layer different kicks to get his own sound, depending on his preference.
