VIDEO: Timi Dakolo – Great Nation

Brilliant! Just… brilliant! Timi Dakolo is, without a shadow of doubt, Nigeria’s #1 male vocalist. “Great Nation” is an amazing inspirational ballad; a song of hope and optimism inspite of the goings-on in our beloved Nigeria. Please share this with as many people as possible. Every Nigerian should watch this.

“The eagerly anticipated video to Timi Dakolo’s awe-inspiring classic, Great Nation is out! The song widely considered as one of the most inspiring African- produced pieces of all time has repeatedly left audiences spell bound after every performance.

From the closing ceremony of the 2011 National Sports festival in Port Harcourt through the Future Awards (where the video was premiered) to the Headies and countless other events, Timi’s powerful rendition easily penetrates the hearts and inspires the minds of Nigerians of all generations, backgrounds and creed.

Great Nation inspires a sense of patriotism in uncommon proportions and offers something to believe in, a great reason to be proud of one’s “Nigerianess” and a belief that indeed, greatness is within our grasp. Released by Lone Records/ Now Muzik and directed by the multi-award winning Clarence Peters, the video will hit TV platforms by the end of the week.

Timi expressed his happiness with the release of the video thus: “I am delighted that the Great Nation video has finally been delivered and the feedback so far has been wonderful. It was a very challenging exercise, believe me. The process of agreeing on the best treatment for the video to a song of this magnitude in terms of importance was rigourous. Everyone had a bright idea about how it should be visually interpreted but once we started the shoot, everything progressed fluidly. I’m particularly grateful to my friends – and firm believers in the Nigeria project who formed the cast, Clarence and his crew, Cobhams Asuquo, Joan Ekpai, Olaitan Dada and everybody that made this a success. This is indeed, a watershed moment!.”

Timi is currently preparing for ‘The Evening’, a fund raising concert for people living with disabilities, scheduled for the 17th of November at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya.”

  12. perfecto!!!! thrilling!!!! a song that should be sang for the sake of the pride of the nation we belong and for the flawless heroism of the true nigerian spirit. this is an anthem

  13. nigeria is too good to be criticised…if the criticisms come, it is because some persons made it so and not concerned about the image and heritage of this great nation….. wish u see everything unfortunate happening or that has happened as a result of administrative negligence while this song plays to your hearing, u ll have a reason to be nostalgic…. nigeria is great.. no doubt but can u beat ur chest without a doubt that this once viable nation filled with noble and courageous men, still holds that ground? REALITY!!!!!!!!!

  14. You cannot build a nation on pathos and goosepimples.
The Obama Formula cannot work in the Nigerian case because unlike Americans Nigerians DO NOT have a high sense of HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE.
We are a lost people hanging unto a geographical expression in the name of nationalism.
Our collective psyche is fractured deep; our moral sense down and in the gutter.
WE MUST GO BACK TO OUR ROOTS.
No nation has ever progressed without HIGH CULTURE.
    Enough Mumu Patriotism abeg!
This cosmetic response amidst undeniable terrifying rot will not save us.
He who forgets his source, demonizes and curses his ancestors….no hope for that man!
    #WAKE UP!
