President of Barcelona Football Club, Joan Laporta, has spoken about the signing of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
ARSENAL FC CLOSE TO COMPLETE THE SIGNING OF ANOTHER PLAYER
Laporta was speaking in an interview where he was asked about other players that might be signed by the Cataluyna club. He gave a hint that Barcelona are looking to sign defenders.
After Lewandowski deal, we are now looking at strengthening the defense. We competed with PSG and Chelsea for Lewandowski and he wanted to come to us, we must thank him because he gets less money from us.
The Cataluyna club reportedly agreed to a €45million plus € 5 million add-ons for Lewandowski. He is expected to sign a three-year deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025. The striker’s goalscoring record led him to be named as ‘The Best’ on two occasions, picking up the award in 2020 and 2021.
Lewandowski is the fourth player that will join Barcelona during this transfer window following the signing of Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen and Raphinha.
