Manchester City came into this game with fewer key players who were injured after their UEFA Champions League game against Atletico Madrid. The Cityzens looked jaded in every part of the pitch as they were second best in all departments in the game.
(2) Liverpool’s Attacking Prowess:
The strength of Liverpool in recent seasons has been strength in their attacking players. Jurgen Klopp has built the team in a way that any player that he decides to put in the front line, will always deliver the goals.
(3) Liverpool’s Set-Pieces:
The Reds have been amazing in their set-pieces this season across all competitions, they have scored 19 goals from corners this season, the most by any Premier League side. Liverpool scored the opening goal of the game through a corner which was scored by Konate.
(4) Pep Guardiola:
The Spaniard tactics and the players he decided to start for the game will always be questiomed. Guardiola’s decision to play Fernandinho in the defensive midfield position is one that Liverpool capitalised on as he could not stop attacking force from his defenders.
(5) Liverpool’s Quadruple:
The Merseyside’s quest to win four competitions this season is still in their hands as they are in the final of the FA Cup. The Reds have a good chance at still winning the UEFA Champions League, winning the Premier League and also winning the FA Cup in addition to the Carabao Cup which was won earlier in the season.
