Former World Number One Tennis player, Novak Djokovic has announced his decision not to participate at this year’s Indian Wells and the Miami Open.

The Serb confirmed this news on his official Twitter account on Thursday, March 10th, 2022. According to reports, the reason for Djokovic not participating in the competition was because of the Covid-19 rules that were laid in the United States.
The tennis player was in the middle of a big controversy at the Australian Open we’re his visa was revoked because he failed to meet the necessary standards that will allow him into the country.
This decision means Djokovic will miss out on a chance to take his number one spot from Alexander Zverev. However, he is expected to make a return to the court at the Monte Carlo Masters in April 2022.
