The decision to terminate the contract was because of the defibrillator that helps the player in breathing. According to the rules in Serie A, a player is not allowed to play with the aid of the defibrillator. Inter Milan made the announcement on its official website on Friday, December 17th, 2021.
Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest in the Euro 2020 during the opening group game between Denmark and Finland on June 12th, 2021. The game was aborted temporarily to treat the danish captain who was later stabilized by medical officials at the nearby hospital.
The former Tottenham player has been training on his own at his boyhood club, Odense. He started the light training session at the club earlier in the month (December 2021).
