10 Nigerian Songs I Can’t Stop Listening To

There are so many songs that are being released everyday. While some might get a higher level of attention from the general public or a wider audience because they are sung by superstars, others get a much lower level of attention due to the fact that the artists are relatively new to the music game.

At NotjustOk.com, we try our best to put out the best content to music lovers all over, and most times, the A-List music artists shine brighter and get more attention than the upcoming ones. While the unequivocal truth remains that, the A-Listers have earned their status by being hardworking and consistent over the years, what about the talented newbies in the game who are trying to get similar attention? They too should be given the much needed attention if you ask me. Guess what, this is exactly what this list is all about – to give the highly talented upcoming artistes the much needed attention they deserve, and perhaps do it in such a way that they eventually attain the A-List status too.

My name is E G O. I am an Editor for NotjustOk.com, and here is my List of 10 Nigerian Songs I Can’t Stop Listening To.

Enjoy and please don’t forget to leave your comments in the comment section.

Johnny Drille – Wait For Me

Johnny Drille Wait For Me

Multi-talented Contemporary Gospel/folk artiste and Ex-Project Fame contestant –  Johnny Drille, has being consistent with his singles over a couple of months now. His sound is out of this world (galactic), his pristine lyrics, unsurpassed vocal ability, highly cohesive and intoxicating beats, mixing and mastering are undeniably world-class in professionalism. You need to here him to understand what I mean!

Sojay – Baby

Sojay who is signed to Reminisce’s LRR label imprint, is one talent this industry will come to reckon with in a short while. His voice serenades you anytime you listen to him sing, and you can see him adding flavor to whatever song he is being featured on. Sojay is definitely a big force to watch out for.

Yung Greyc – Chukwuma (Remix) ft. Patoranking

CHUKWUMA ARTWORK NEW

The first lady of Naija Ninjas – Yung Greyc, really knows how to put a dancehall song together. Closely chasing Cynthia Morgan in the dancehall genre, Yung Greyc is equally as energetic, and a very strong act to really watch out for.

Giniz – The Promise (prod. DrillMeister)

Giniz

A relatively new act in the game, but Giniz is one talented young lady. Her sound is westernized by default and can boast of clenching international award if she remains stead-fast in her music career. The sky is definitely the starting point for Giniz, it’s not her limit at all.

Cleo-Thelma ft. Korede Bello – I Gat You

Cleo-Thelma I've Gat U

Frequent Nojustok visitors will remember Cleo-Thelma from being the 2nd ever Mynotjustok Artiste of the week. From then on till now, she has being effortlessly delivering highly impressive singles. Cleao Thelma is a rising star to also watch out for, and I have a feeling her best is yet to come.

  1. Funny enough, I listen to songs of all except 3 of these artistes (i.e Vino Bellz, Humblesmith & Ola dips). At least I'm aware of them now.

  2. i have noticed this Nigerian music industry is just filled with fake hype and one genre of tiring sound that we dont know when it will fizzle off. I heard this song (Christian Lobatan) by an artiste named Dolondolo ft Orezi, where he was talking a shoe (christian louboutin) plus the amazing banging beat, great lyrical content.I think artistes who are working hard should be reckoned with. Please someone should prove me wrong, listen and tell me if its got no potential.. I pity our new generation music..

  3. EGO, thanks for this list. I'm hearing some of these for the first time. NJO should do more like this, since it's almost impossible for us readers to keep up with and hear everything on our own. This is very much appreciated.

  4. Of them all I think Giniz is fresh and very different. For the first time in a long time we have a talented female artist!!!

  5. Giniz and Johnny drille are the stand out artistes on this. Especially giniz. she's a breathe of fresh air. Look forward to hearing more from her.

  6. splendid .. cant stop listening to johnny drille… cant believe we've got such raw talent in the wings ..NICE ONE E.G.O

  7. i love Christian Lobatan by Dolondolo.Dude has been getting lotsa airplay frm radio stations.. sounds like an upcoming hit

  8. Johnny Drille sounds great…. wow effort from the producer sound engineer. I love the beginning so much. It's catchy. Nice pick E G O.

  9. Excellent post E.G.O, these are proper songs with talented folks who are honing their crafts on the type of music that suites their vocals.
I've been blown away by Ginie and Johnny Drille. I want to also use this opportunity to hail the producers and others behind the scenes for delivering such lovely jams.
